Increasingly, travelers have had to answer the question: Hotel Room or Vacation Rental? Here’s some advice for you. Each has it’s pros and cons, and obviously (in full disclosure), we at Las Casitas, are biased toward vacation rentals!
At the risk of a bit of a “spoiler” if you haven’t clicked on the link yet, even some of the biggest pros of hotel stays are also available at many vacation rentals! People generally think vacation rentals are total DIY including checkins, cooking, and cleaning. But many, such as Las Casitas, will always have someone to personally check you in. And, you can arrange for additional cleanings, private chefs or cooks, grocery stocking, even baby gear that you don’t want to lug from home! You can see some great examples and contacts that Las Casitas offers here.
A Little More on Vacation Rentals
If you enjoy a bit of privacy, and less hustle and bustle, vacation rentals are great. And don’t let the prices of the high-end places scare you! Many are well worth the price, given their size, location, and amenities. And, because they have multiple bedrooms (and in Las Casitas, a private bath in each bedroom), you can team up with others! Having your own villa, right on the beach, with, for example, three rooms (like our Villa Playa or Villa Puerto), ends up costing far less than getting three rooms at large hotels and resorts nearby.
Hotel room or vacation rental? Do you want space to sprawl? Or a, perhaps nice, but standard resort room?
Do you want on the beach? Or is a sea view or garden view at a resort good enough?
Hotel rooms or vacation rentals? Hotels may give you waiter service and activities staff. Vacation rentals, while you may have to mix your own drinks, gives you the space, luxury, location, and privacy many look for.
While hotels verses vacation rentals is always a personal choice, if you haven’t tried vacation rentals, particularly in Puerto Morelos, we encourage you to expand your experience horizons! We think you’ll be pleased you did!
