Hi all! Well, sargassum season is back! This is an update on the sargassum status for May 2021:
While Puerto Morelos has gotten a share of sargassum barriers are up, vessels are working out at sea to collect it before it arrives, and ground crews work hard to clean up what does arrive. So, while you will see some on the beaches, it will get cleaned up and should not cause you a huge problem in the Las Casitas area. Other areas that don’t have barriers or aren’t serviced by the city will see a great deal more of it.
